Petrie Winds is a woodwind quintet composed of faculty members from Converse University’s Petrie School of Music. The ensemble performs annually on the Faculty Recital series at Converse and throughout the Southeast. Their repertoire includes classical and contemporary music for woodwinds.
The ensemble members are flutist Chris Vaneman, oboist Kelly Vaneman, clarinetist Karen Hill, bassoonist Frank Watson, and Ericka Tyner who plays horn. The members of the quintet hold degrees from the Yale School of Music, the Eastman School of Music, Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, and Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music. The musicians are also members of the Spartanburg Philharmonic, the Hendersonville Symphony, and the Asheville Symphony Orchestra.

Guitarist and recording artist, Mr. Rosamaria has performed as a soloist, with the Paco Band, and as a member of the North Carolina Guitar Quartet. He has appeared with the North Carolina Symphony, the Raleigh Symphony, North Carolina Theater, North Carolina Bach Festival, and in concert series at universities and colleges in the Southeast. His versatility is reflected in the diversity of his discography. Titles include Kypoyka, Ukrainian Children’s Songs and Stories, Winter Branches, with the North Carolina Guitar Quartet, Ino Live and Esencia, Ed Stephenson and the Paco Band, and A Paco Band Christmas.
