The Astralis Chamber Ensemble is an innovative and dynamic ensemble performing with much acclaim across the country. These award-winning musicians represent decades of experience performing at many of the world’s major venues and notable concert series. With instrument pairings that are unique worldwide, the ensemble has been selected for the dedication of many new chamber works and has expanded the repertoire available through commissions and arrangements. Concert tours include a range ofperformances from leading concert series to underserved communities in order to reach communities of all backgrounds through music.
The highly acclaimed,Astralis Chamber Ensemble presents over sixty recitals each season at venues across the eastern US with instrument pairings that are unique worldwide. Angela Massey (flute), Christine Wu (viola), and Jane Yoo (harp) present “Meditations.” The concert will begin withthe Dubois Terzettino that inspired this unique and beautiful combinationof instruments.Other works will include the Ballade by Debussy, exquisite German trio by Genzmer, and solos to feature each musician. These artists have received international recognition and won leading competitions for their instruments. Join us for an enchanting evening of music with the Astralis Chamber Ensemble.

William Bares, Piano “A superb jazz pianist”

William Bares is a noted jazz pianist who has performed to great acclaim in New York, Boston, and Europe. As an active member of Asheville’s musical community, he performed solo piano in the Blue Ridge Orchestra’s debut of “Rhapsody in Blue,” hosted the weekly Sunday Jazz Showcase at Asheville’s Isis Music Hall and continues to perform and record with his modern jazz group, The Core. Mr. Bares serves on the faculty of UNC-Asheville.

Justin Ray has performed professionally for more than twenty years. In 2003, he accepted an offer from Warner Bros. to appear with Michael Bublé as instrumentalist, composer, and arranger. Mr. Ray gained a reputation for a fiery and compelling style and has appeared at Madison Square Garden, the Sydney Opera House, Radio City Music Hall, and the Hollywood Bowl. TV appearances include The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and Saturday Night Live.
